The Ramblings of a severely agitated Hufflepuff

For an entire hour i listened to one severely confused poorly spoken nitwit try to argue the almighty-ness of the twilight series over Potter. not only did she poorly pronounce the names of the potter characters (its griphook not grawphook) but she insisted that almost all of the plot was stolen from previous works, and on top of that, the unimportance of the potter series in today's society.

Come on now, Meyer only ever held a real job as a secretary for a year and a half, Jo Rowling was a starving author trying to feed her infant living in her car. To say that Meyer could ever have anything to top Rowling is not only ridiculous but completely wrong! who is Stephenie Meyer to comment on society, that woman grew up a spoiled rotten little Christian girl with nothing to fear in the entire world, promptly graduated from College without trouble, got pregnant, and began spawning whelps with her husband. Almost every aspect of Rowlings troubled past have come through one of her own experiences in life. Such as the Dementors, in interviews Dementors have described everything Rowling has battled in life. Whether it be Rowlings own severe depression, her mothers debilitating death, or her fathers abuse, or even her divorce with that awful Portuguese first husband of hers. Through her experiences Rowling clearly grew as a writer, possessing the ability to reach out to all of us, depressed, jovial, or catatonic, Rowling deserves to be living in her semi-modest home in (i believe she still has a house outside of dean) Rowling deserves to be the most influential woman in Britain, Rowling deserves to be richer than the queen. and to be blunt, J.K. Rowling has served as a better example of our so called American dream than any American I've known of in 17 years of ghastly existence.

If i can admit this just about anyone can, The story is an age old classic, Potters plot is in essence, an archetype. Its the so-called classic story, good versus evil, pure versus corrupt, gryffindor versus slytherin! (okay that last one was a bit of a stretch.) its ridiculous when i hear people babble about Gandalf's similarities to Dumbledore. for Christs sake hes freaking based of of Gandalf openly!. Rowling has admitted in video interviews she intended for the more apt reader to draw and see the open similarities to Gandalf. If you even read Tolkien's work, Gandalf is the ultimate symbol of fire, the good fire, the warm, embracing powerful fire, if not obvious when it was revealed that Gandalf held one of the three elven rings i believe the name of his was narya? Dumbledore clearly exhibits the same qualities, the mentor, the ultimate hero, the bearded mage! Dumbledore even has a phoenix, which is by far the most obvious give away to this comparison. the list carries on though, Dumbledore even saves Harry's life from the inferi with fire as well.

"the real difference is that Jo Rowling is a terrific writer, and Stephenie Meyer can't write worth a darn. She's not very good."

- Stephen King

For those who have been hiding under a literary rock for the past 30 years or are merely illiterate, Stephen king is regarded as the father of all horror in today's society. If perhaps you wont listen to me, a rambling blogger listen to societies best suspense author. i am not going to delve into the subject of the cinematic filth that has been produced in honor of Stephenie Meyers atrocities this time. merely mention that around the same time David Yates told the public that the last potter would be split into two separate movies, it was released that the last twilight movie would quickly follow suit.

Dignity always seems to be taken for granted when referring to those in the public eye (celebrities). while Meyer has made a bumbling fool of herself on TV and through her poorly written novels, Rowling has never done anything but carry herself with the utmost dignity and self-respect. whether it be book-signing until 3 A.M. or reading aloud for charity causes, not only does Rowling preform these with dignity, she does it with style. Rowling adores her fans, she adores helping people escape from their own droll reality into a better world, into a magical one. If anything Rowling has handled negative media with the utmost grace, and as a true sign of a brilliant writer, Rowling channeled her feelings towards the mass media into writing. via Rita Skeeter. While Stephanie Meyer cant seem to get through an interview without stumbling over words, or commenting on how "dreamy" the actors portraying her characters are. To add to her crippling public behavior when her work is criticized she merely cowers away and apologizes. to beat that, she is also the feminists worst nightmare, basing her main characters entire life around boys, and stressing the importance of physical attractiveness and being dependent on the vampiric twits.

Well in any case i feel better, next time a certain awful being rants about the stupidity of potter and the brilliance of potter i think ill give her this blog URL or perhaps ill throw a rock at that tosser.
